This project was a unique experience which brought
together an unusual group of kindergarden and junior high school
students. Several of the older students were in a special education
class. The young people participated in a series of printmaking
and portrait drawing workshops for 6 months. The students created
a number of drawings, collages, and stamp prints which were developed
into linoleium block prints, monoprints and collagraphs. They
used a table top etching press to print their plates. The imagery
from their work was then translated into 7 ceramic tile murals.
