Office of Finance & Operations

Welcome to the finance & operations section of the ECF website.

Headed by Michael Hwang, ECF’s CFO, our division provides for the following functions at ECF:

Finance

The finance department, also known as the business office, handles all of ECF’s financial and accounting operations. With an operating budget of slightly over $50.0 million for 2007-08, we are pleased to be heading towards our sixth consecutive balanced budget, while meeting the school’s changing and growing programmatic and operational needs.

Human Resources & Payroll

Our HR department, headed by Trish Shelton, supports over 400 full-time and part-time faculty and staff. ECF is proud to offer highly competitive compensation and benefits programs, and we will continue to strive to achieve the best and most well-balanced programs for our employees.

Facilities Management

ECF’s two campuses are managed by our two directors of facilities– Joe Piselli at our Manhattan or Ethical Culture campus , and Gene Kivlan at our Fieldston campus. Our goal is to provide secure, safe, environmentally sound, clean and comfortable venues for teaching, learning, and growth.

Campus Operations & Auxiliary Programs

Trish Shelton coordinates a variety of programs at ECF outside of the regular academic curriculum that range from after-school and vacation programs to private/public collaborations that engage ECF and the wider world. As we expand our campus, we will continue to assess these programs to ensure that our community is best-served.
