Tate Library

The Tate Library is an integral part of Fieldston Middle and Upper School. It is a great place to read, study, and pursue research. The Library's collection includes over 40,000 books; over 100 magazines, journals and periodicals; a collection of Audio-Visual materials; computerized access to a large number of periodicals, and a wide variety of online databases. The Library offers a projection room and several small instruction rooms equipped for viewing and listening.

To meet the needs of their frequent research projects, students and faculty draw on the Library's extensive resources, both print and non-print. Orientation classes are held for all Form I classes, and instructional sessions are conducted before and during research projects in many other classes.

The Library belongs to the New York City School Library System, which gives students access to the collections of a wide range of school, public, and academic libraries in the metropolitan area. The Library is a member of the NYC Independent Schools Multi-Media Center, which makes available 2,500 films and videos.

Faculty may also access the iMedia Film Library; please contact the library with any questions.
