Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. Our primary entry points for admission are Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and grades 6 and 9. Admission to all other grades is based on attrition and applications for these grades are always welcome.  Because of this limitation, candidates are contacted for an interview and tour on a rolling basis throughout the year as spaces become available.

It is important to note that Pre-Kindergarten applicants must turn 4 years old by September 1 and Kindergarten applicants must turn 5 years old before September 1 of the year in which they will be entering school. Below are links to PDF documents that describe the application process in detail. We look forward to learning more about you and your family.

Please note: We do not require nor will we accept standardized test results for admission to Kindergarten and 1st grade. If your child is required to take standardized tests as part of their application to another school, please do not send the scores, as they will not be considered. Children applying to grades 2-4 are still required to submit ERB testing in order to complete their application.

*We are no longer accepting Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 6 and Grade 9 applications for 2016 admission.

The Online Application Account enables you to track the status of your child's application and required supporting materials (School, Report Forms, Academic Recommendations, ERB and ISEE or SSAT Test results). Online Application Account here.

You can download and print paper versions of the required supporting materials from the Application webpage.

The deadline for submitting an application was November 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
