The University

The University was built in the Italian Renaissance style to commemorate liberal learning. The University was a perfect way for the emperor to give the bourgeoisie something that they wanted while giving them no power. The bourgeoisie sent all of their kids to the university and the university became a pool of bourgeoisie ideas and ideals. The University gained academic fame and became one of the best in all of Europe. The bourgeoisie were pleased with it because they were being educated and had a forum to discuss their ideas. The emperor was pleased with it because it kept the bourgeoisie happy and kept them from demanding change.
