Ostensibly the one “true bohemian” writer of 18^th century London, and probably also the most elusive, Richard Savage was the subject of one of Johnson’s last works: “The Life of Richard Savage.” In this biography, Johnson romanticizes Savage’s low income, high-risk lifestyle.
