Welcome to the D-Band 2002 Birth of Modern Europe London web-site. In the space of this site we hope to undertake a study of the course of modernity in London. We will first start with the pre-history of London, ending in 1830, in hopes of analyzing the causes of the rise of modernism in this magnificent city. We will then have historical fictions in order to better illustrate daily life in 19th century London. From there, we will post historical essays examining different social, political, economic, and cultural aspects of modern London. Lastly will be Student Web Walks which will further explore the complexity of Modern (Post 1830's) London.
