John
Constable was born the son of a well-to-do miller, and raised
in what is commonly known as one of EnglandŐs most beautiful
counties. As a youngster he was taught French and Latin, and
expected to continue his fathers business, and naturally engouraged
to abandon any dreams of his own art carreer.

Constable
believed that the lanscape painter should be humbled by the
beauty of nature, and only then can they truly capture itŐs
"true" beauty. Unlike Turner
Constables talent was not widely recognized during his, and
it was only after his depth that the public came to apreacciate
the true beauty of his work.
