English Government Caused Irish to Lack Political Power
English laws against the Irish working class caused extreme poverty for the Irish in London during the 19th century. Government restrictions on Irish political power and Irish made goods made it harder for the Irish to rise above their poor living standards. The restrictions ruled the Irish landlords to make them minimize the amount of land the masses could own and live from.
After the Industrial Revolution, there was a huge gap between the social classes. The change in economics caused poor workers to lack even more opportunity in finding better jobs. There were many Reform Acts which made it difficult for the poor, Irish in particular, to hold any type of political power.
