Willis Wilde and Jane Francesca Elgee. His mother Jane often wrote
under the pen name of "Speranza".
1867 On Feburary 23 Wildes sister, Isola, dies.
He later writes the poem "Requiescat" to comemerate her
death.

Won the Michaelmas Prize at Trinity College in Dublin.
1874
Won Berkeley Gold Metal for Greek.
1875
First poem (translated from Greek) published in Dublin.
1878 Won the Newdigate Prize with "Ravenna"
1882 Wilde reaches New York on Janurary 2 to
begin his one year tour in the United States
1883 Wilde Spent the year in Paris and then
returned to the U.S. for the production of Vera written the year
before.
1884 Married
Constance Lloyd in London on May 29. Traveled to Paris for their
honeymoon.
1886 "He began that course of conduct

1888 Published The Happy Prince and other Tails.
1889
Published The Picture of Dorian Gray. Met Lord Alfred Douglas about
June-August.
1892
Lady Windermeres Fan opens Feburary 20. Salome is in rehearsal
and licence refused by Lord Chaberlains Office.
1893
Salome published in Paris. A Women of No Importance is produce
in London.
1894 Lord Alfred Douglas sends insulting telegram
to his father on April 2, regaurding Wilde.
1895 An Ideal Husband is produced in London on Janurary
3. The Importance on Being Earnest is produced in London on Feburary
18. Douglass father, the Marquess of Queensberry, leaves
an insulting note for Wilde at his club. The Marquess is arrested
on Wildes complaint for criminal libel. Queensberyy in aquitted
of criminal charges on April 3. Wilde was taken to trial on April
5, by Queensberry on a trial reversal from the libel case.
1897
Wilde is released from prison.
