The Circuses, Intersections, and Other Stuff
Above is a wonderful etching of the Carlton house, as seen from Piccadilly Circus, one of the great "events" along
Regent Street. As is typical of a Regent Street "event", this circus is round, and uses mostly classical and neo-classical architecture.
Click on the picture to see how time has affected Nash's design of Piccadilly Circus.

The picture above is Waterloo Circus, which although square (contrary to much of Regent Street) is still a positive aspect of the street.
As most of the other areas along the street, this Circus uses neo-classical facades. Once again, the street-goer is compelled to focus
on the event (Waterloo Circus in this case) as opposed to the street itself.
