Last Saturday, February 10, more than 115 members of the ECFS community—alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, students, and trustees—gathered for a daylong conference focused on our mission and essential values. A planning committee of 16, with representation from each school constituency, worked for several months to plan a day focused on building awareness, enthusiasm, and participation.
The day began with a panel of students, faculty, alumni, administrators, and trustees sharing their connection to ECFS's mission, given their primary, self-identified constituency. Participants then broke into discussion groups—again, according to their primary, self-identified constituency—and wrestled with the question "What are our essential values?" Discussions were lively and robust. After lunch, participants met up in different groups and continued the conversation; this proved a highlight of the day for many.
