The energy at the Ethical Culture campus had been high leading up to spring break. The rite of passage known as the fourth grade play, swept up actors, musicians, directors, and set designers alike. Singing could be heard all over the building and very often students would be seen practicing their lines during recess or after school.
Opening night was on March 15 and a special performance was held on the morning of March 16 for the entire Ethical Culture division. It was electrifying seeing students own the stage, share their voices and make Dear Edwina a show to remember. Music teacher Phillip Bettencourt, art teachers Kate Eady and Deirdra Hazeley and costume manager Olga Stone were invaluable to the experience. Students can still be heard singing songs from the show after spring break.
