In Carline Samson and Rachel Woodman's class, writer's workshop starts around November. The students were introduced to the writing process, planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing, one step at a time. Before publishing the stories, the students spent time on multiple drafts, and paid special attention to specific details. The end result was the creation of amazing stories filled with beautiful illustrations.
The kids are often reminded that they have many stories to tell and are encouraged to consider which ones they want to share with everyone and why. The process culminated in a publishing party where students had a chance to showcase all of their hard work to visitors.
