SARAH DANZIG SIMON '96
Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement
Sarah Danzig Simon was named Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement in June 2016. Most recently she served as Director of Strategic Initiatives & Board Relations, charged with overseeing the implementation of “Mission Manifest,” the school’s strategic plan, and with shepherding capital projects envisioned in the plan. She previously held three positions on the ECFS advancement team: acting director of advancement, director of major gifts, and director of alumni giving. Prior to joining ECFS, Sarah worked in financial services, including roles in asset management, business development, and investor relations. She is a graduate of Cornell University.
Assistant Director, Communications
Maria Asteinza has been ECFS’s assistant director of communications since October 2008. From 1999 to 2008, she was the director of communications at the Dwight-Englewood School, in Englewood, New Jersey. Previously, she served as the director of publications at the Alliance for the Arts, an arts advocacy organization. She also has worked as a production coordinator for CBS Sports’ Olympics coverage and as a contributing editor for a travel publication. Maria holds a B.A. in history from Williams College.
MEGHANA NENE GOLDEN
Assistant Director, Annual Giving
Meghana Nene Golden served as program manager of Annual Giving and Special Events at The Churchill School and Center before joining ECFS in February 2015. Prior to her six years at Churchill, she worked at SAP software company. Meghana earned a B.S. in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh.
ROSANNY GONZALEZDevelopment Associate
Rosanny Gonzalez joined ECFS full-time in the fall of 2015 as Development Associate, having previously worked in the department as a summer intern. She is a graduate of Prep for Prep, a highly selective leadership development program that incorporates a rigorous 14-month academic component to prepare students for placement in leading independent schools and continues to work closely with them through high school graduation and beyond.
Meredith Halpern joined ECFS in June 2013 from The Hewitt School, where she served as Director of Marketing and Communications. Prior to Hewitt, Meredith spent nearly ten years as Executive Director, Marketing and Communications at CUNY's Hunter College, where she oversaw internal and external communications. Meredith is a graduate of Swarthmore College and earned an M.B.A. from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
Database Services Manager
Izzy Hiigel joined ECFS as the database services manager in May 2016, after previously serving as the development associate at the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). Prior to working at OCRF, she served as the development associate at Friends of ALYN Hospital, the American fundraising branch of a children's rehabilitation center in Israel. Izzy graduated from Gettysburg College in 2013 with a B.A. in English.
SAMANTHA MILLER KAGAN '03
Assistant Director, Special Events
Samantha Miller Kagan joined ECFS in May 2015 from Event Associates, a fundraising and event planning firm, where she produced dozens of fundraising benefits and social events in New York City and beyond. She previously worked in corporate communications and events at the Weinstein Company. Samantha is a graduate of Union College.
Sarah McDonald joined ECFS in September 2016 from Teach For America - New York (TFA-NY), where she served as Associate of Corporate and Foundation Relations and Coordinator of Development. Prior to working at TFA-NY, she served as Development Coordinator at Save the Children. Sarah is a graduate of Fairfield University.
SANDRA MIDKIFFDeputy Director, Development
Sandra Midkiff joined ECFS in August 2015 from the Head-Royce School, where she served as the Associate Director of Advancement. She previously worked at The Hewitt School for seven years, overseeing the Annual Fund. Sandra is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University.
PATTY NASEYDirector, Alumni Relations
Patty Nasey joined ECFS as Director of Alumni Relations in October 2015. She spent more than 25 years in the magazine industry as a marketing, sales, and event planning executive for companies ranging from Conde Nast and Time, Inc. to Parenting and New York Magazine. An active ECFS P+T volunteer since 2010, Patty is the proud parent of Mara Goldberg ’16. She holds a B.A. in communications studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
RUTH SAMUELSONCommunications Coordinator
Ruth has been a member of the communications team since June 2014. She previously served as editorial manager at Pratt Institute. Ruth worked as a journalist for several years, first as a staff writer at the weekly newspaper, Washington City Paper, and later as a freelance reporter in Mexico City. She is a graduate of Rice University.
