First grade's grand opening of the "Bird Museum" was a hit! Students in both 1S and 1L presented their work in this much-anticipated culminating event. Work included large-scale habitat murals, bird models made out of paper bags, newspaper and casting, graphs including results of "Wingspans vs Arm spans," "Egg Sizes", and research books written and illustrated by the children showcasing their research bird.
Students in first grade also proudly presented their project on extinct, endangered and threatened birds including their suggestions on "how we can help" birds and their environment. They learned and shared many ways to help birds such as keeping cats indoors and planting plants that help local birds. First grade is looking forward to sharing more ways to help birds and to live a more "bird friendly" life!
