Form VI student Marco de Angelis is a finalist in the New York City Science & Engineering Fair (NYCSEF), a city-wide competition. Research for his project, "The Effects of Sulfuric Acid on Mechanical Properties of Polycrystalline Ice," was conducted at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, under the mentorship of Professor Christine McCarthy, as part of his science research class with Fieldston Upper science teacher and green dean Howie Waldman.

On March 20, de Angelis will compete in the finals to represent New York City in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF).
