Kyle Wilkie-Glass
Chief Executive Officer
Kyle has been a future-thinking strategic leader for the ECFS community since joining the School in May 2016. Earlier this year, he was named Chief Executive Officer and currently oversees all of the School’s academic divisions and administrative departments.
Over the past eight years, Kyle has deftly led ECFS through numerous challenges while advancing the School’s mission. Within the past year, Kyle successfully led ECFS through decennial accreditation by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS).
Kyle also navigated the School through the COVID-19 pandemic; oversaw the planning of critical projects like the renovation of the Tate Library, Design Studios, and Student Commons, as well as Ethical Culture renovations; and has been an active and successful advocate for advancing the School’s educational mission.
Jon Alschuler
Principal, Fieldston Middle
Jon Alschuler has worked in education for over 25 years and was named Principal of Fieldston Middle in 2021. Previously, he served as a learning specialist, classroom teacher, department chair, varsity basketball coach, dean of students, and director of student life at two day/boarding schools in New England, where he worked with students ranging from 6th Grade to post-graduate.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Haverford College, a master’s in education from Simmons University, and a master’s in education with a concentration in independent school educational leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University.
Dr. Stacey Bobo
Principal, Fieldston Middle
Dr. Stacey D. Bobo has extensive experience with school leadership in national and international schools and is dedicated to creating learning environments where students are supported and motivated to succeed. She served as the executive director of a charter school, the head of an international school, the assistant superintendent for a large school district, a bilingual classroom teacher, an assistant principal, and as a principal. Dr. Bobo holds a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA, a master’s degree in bilingual and multicultural education from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a doctorate in education leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
As principal of Fieldston Upper, Dr. Bobo collaborates with the faculty to develop a clear course sequence across the high school curriculum, align departmental and grade-level teaching, and leverage the specialized knowledge of ECFS’s faculty.Additionally, Dr. Bobo streamlined operations and communication at Fieldston Upper, ensuring that every member of the school community is well-informed and included in student and school life.
Dr. Erik Landgren
Principal, Ethical Culture
Dr. Erik Landgren is the Principal of Ethical Culture, where he leads 80 faculty and staff in providing an academically excellent, experiential, ethics-centered curriculum for 400-plus children in Pre-K–5th Grade. Before moving into this role, Dr. Landgren was the Assistant Principal for Student Life at Ethical Culture, where he developed and maintained the social and emotional curriculum for Pre-K–5th Grade students.
Before his work as an administrator, Dr. Landgren worked as a classroom teacher for 18 years and taught graduate students at Hunter College. A frequent speaker at national and international conferences and parent events, Dr. Landgren’s work focuses on helping children build resilience in challenging times and empowering students to understand and express their emotions.
Joe McCauley
Principal, Fieldston Lower
Joe McCauley was named Principal of Fieldston Lower during the 2018–2019 academic year. Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he studied history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has worked in education ever since, including time as an associate teacher, Kindergarten–12th Grade service learning coordinator, classroom teacher, assistant principal, and now principal.
Before joining ECFS, he worked at P.S. 72 in East Harlem and Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights. He earned a master’s degree in education from Hunter College and has extensive experience in public and independent schools. As principal at Fieldston Lower, his work centers around amplifying student achievement and student-led initiatives. In collaboration with his leadership team and faculty, he has led initiatives to improve home reports, class schedules, and math and language arts teaching approaches and curriculum. Beyond Fieldston Lower, Joe also co-leads the NYSAIS Divisional Leadership Institute where he supports first-year division heads to become successful leaders.

Board of Trustees
Our Trustees play a shared role in leading the School, focusing on governance while the Head of School oversees management. Their primary responsibilities are to set policy, monitor the functions of the School, and collaborate with the Head of School to steward the financial health of the School, ensuring that the necessary resources are in place to further our mission and achieve strategic priorities.
Among the Trustees are alumni, parents, faculty, leaders of the New York Society for Ethical Culture, and Honorary Trustees who act in the undivided interest of the School to carry out our mission with integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, both today and into the future.
