Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.”
Mindfulness, compassion, and empathy are cornerstones of an ethical life; therefore, mindfulness education and practice lie at the heart of an ethical education. To know the nature of one's mind takes skill and courage and is essential to being an effective leader. Mindfulness education and practice are tools to raise our collective actions beyond mere reactions and into consciousness. In this, the information age, we live at an ever-increasing fast pace and with mounting pressures. The Fieldston Mindfulness Initiative seeks to create substantive and positive change for the entire ECFS community.
Give yourself the gift of silent, mindful eating and a respite from a busy week. Come and go at any time. Join us between 12:00 and 2:00 pm in the admissions board room at Fieldston. Lunch will be served, or bring your own. Enjoy a peaceful meal, have a cup of tea, or just take a break.
