The Tate Library is an integral part of Fieldston Middle and Upper, with a collection of more than 40,000 books, including e-books; 100+ magazines, journals, and periodicals; a collection of audio/visual materials; computerized access to a large number of periodicals; and a wide variety of online databases.
Beginning in June 2017, the Tate will undergo a full interior renovation and replacement of its roof. The building construction will be finished by the summer of 2018, and the library will re-open in January 2019.
During the renovation, the Student-Faculty Center and the middle school's second-floor academic center will serve as host libraries for students. Librarians will be working in both locations, with the most heavily used part of the library's collection housed in these two spaces. The Stu-Fac will be reserved for quiet study, and there will be other spaces around campus designated for either quiet or group study.
Online services will not be affected by the renovation, and the entire library staff will be on duty in the temporary spaces for the duration of the project.
