Continuing the mission after ECFS
Dear families,
At Ethical Culture Fieldston School, the College Office's priority is helping every student find the college that is the right fit for them.
Our students come to this process with a strong foundation. Throughout their time at ECFS, they’ve been encouraged to think deeply about who they are, what they value, and how they want to contribute to the world. Through our Ethics curriculum, academic experiences, and opportunities to connect learning with the world around them, they develop the critical thinking skills and self awareness that will serve them well beyond the college search.
We begin by getting to know each student, their interests, aspirations, strengths, and the kind of environment where they are most likely to thrive. From there, we walk alongside them as they explore colleges and universities, considering everything from academic programs and campus culture to the community and values that matter most to them.
It's a dynamic and personal process. Students often find that what they thought they wanted shifts along the way, opening up a new interest or revealing what matters most to them. Through individualized counseling, career exploration, experiential learning, and conversations about life after ECFS, we encourage students to consider possibilities they may not have imagined before. Our role is to help them stay curious and open as they explore their options and make thoughtful and informed decisions about their futures.
We're honored to walk alongside our students through this journey of self-discovery and help them find the place where they can continue to flourish.
