We offer a number of programs for our students that sit outside our regular curricular offerings. These offerings will be updated throughout the year.
We partner with Autonautics International Driving School to provide a driver's education program for all students at ECFS and in the surrounding community. The driver's education program is offered on a semester basis: fall and spring.
Before School Music is offered to 4th Grade and 5th Grade students at our Ethical Culture division who want to explore and develop instrumental skills. The program provides group lessons at the beginner and intermediate levels. Instructors are professional musicians with music degrees and experience teaching children. Instrument choices include flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and trumpet. Students provide their own musical instruments.
The program begins on September 18, 2017, and ends on June 1, 2018, observing all school holidays. Classes meet once a week at 7:50am and last until 8:30am.
During winter, spring, and summer break, we offer two weeklong programs for students in Pre-K through Grade 7: Hoops and Weeks of Discovery. Both take place at our Manhattan campus.
Hoops is designed to teach the fundamental skills of basketball and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment. Weeks of Discovery is a day camp program that takes advantage of the gymnasium, the rooftop playground, and Central Park, allowing students to partake in art, science, and nature activities.
